I’ve been crocheting for a long time now but I could never really get very good at knitting but I loved the look of it. At the end of last year I decided to get both an Addi express and an Addi express king. I absolutely love them! They make things like hats, scarf and smaller items so quickly. They are wonderful for making items for crafts shows!

Personally I wanted the Addi because I knew it would last a long time but I’ve heard that other less expensive knitting machines work well too like Sentro.

The Pattern:

Create a tube with Addi Knitting Machine–35 rows.

I tend to use a lot of Caron simply soft yarn for my projects. Its inexpensive but it’s also very soft. I used all simply soft yarn for this project but many other yarns of similar weight will also work.

Next add stuffing and close the top of the ball.

Knot the 2 strands together

Weave strands through center of ball, cinch ball a little to make apple shape and knot ends together.

Stem:

Start with a long tail.

Slip knot.

Ch 6

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, Hdc, hdc, sc, sc, Fasten off.

Leaf:

Slip Knot

Ch 8

Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc, sl st at end.

(Next row is continued on the opposite side)

Row 2: Sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc, sl st. Tie off. Leave a long tail to attach.

Attach leaf and stem to top of apple. If you’d like this to be an ornament add a loop of yarn or ribbon behind the leaf and tie a knot at the top.
