This tiny little cactus pattern was inspired by my complete lack of keeping plants alive. Somehow even the cactus I had didn’t make it. I’ve pretty much given up on having any cute plants in my place but I figured if I made one hopefully I couldn’t mess that up.

For this pattern you’ll need:
- H (5.0mm) Crochet Hook
- Worsted Weight Yarn: I used Caron Simply Soft: Pistachio
- Yarn Needle
I’ve found over the years that I absolutely love 2 brands of yarn and one of them is Caron Simply Soft. They have so many colors and the yarn is very soft and so easy to work with. It’s also a great price even without coupons. I think it’s definitely something you should try especially if you’re new to crocheting.
You’ll also need:
- Mini terracotta pot: approx. 2in
- Optional: hot glue gun
- Optional: safety eyes
(start by leaving a long tail: 12in or so)
(all rows worked in back loops)
Row 1: Hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across, turn.
Row 2-12: Ch 2, hdc in each stitch across.
Row 13: Slip stitch last row to beginning chain row (makes a tube). Tie off and leave a long tail.
Take long tail and weave in and out of top stitches closing up one side of the tube, knot and weave in ends
Stuff cactus, add safety eyes if desired, then close up the other end, knot and weave in ends.
Stuff into pot, glue in with hot glue gun if desired.
